At the price giving ceremony of the "Surfer of the Year" award of the German special interest magazine SURF Klaas Voget became second place behind German windsurf champion Bernd Flessner. But in the voting of the fun sports online portal funsporting.com Voget won in the category windsurfing.
Corresponding to his impressing results in the last season, Voget became "Windsurfer of the Year 2008". Further nominees were Andre Paskowski, Normen Günzlein, Vincent Langer and also Bernd Flessner.
Fun sports fans elected their favourite windsurfers in the first edition of the all new „Action Sports Awards“. The top five selected sailors finaly candidated in a run-off election. Klaas Voget collected most of the votes and now he can look for a nice place for the shiny blue „Action Sports Awards 2008“.
That he is a worthy to win this award is undisputed. 2008 Voget became third at the World Cup in Sylt and seventh at the PWA Wave event in Pozo. Overall he becam sixth in the ranking.
