Longest windsurfing marathon
Sergiy Naidych surfed the Radyschev Lake in Ukrainia between 6th and 9th of June for a total of 71 hours and 30 minutes. This is the longest time spent surfing on a windsurfing board.
Longest windsurfing journey
Between 17. May and 18. Juli 2005, two months altogether, the Brazilians Flavio Jardim and Diogo Guerreiro travelled a distance of 8,120 kilometres on their windsurf boards, from Chui to Oiapoque (Brazil). Imagine – this is about the same distance as Paris to Peking!!!

Windsurfer with the most PWA titles
Björn Dunkerbeck is the most successful windsurfer ever – at least considering the official world championships Bjorn has already won. Bjorn won 35 titles altogether. And across a large spectrum of disciplines, too – such as freestyle, race, wave and speed! Bjorn, who is now 41, still competes. In 2010. he won the Slalom worldcup of Sylt.
The longest board
The world’s longest windsurfing board is 18 metres long and was designed by the Dutchman Joop Nederpelt. It accommodates nine windsurfers with nine individual sails who can sail standing next to each other. Here’s a video: http://www.windsportaddicts.com/archives/132
The fastest windsurfer
Finian Maynard is the world’s fastest speedsurfer at the moment. The Irishman is the holder of two world records and has won four world championships in speed windsurfing. His record breaking speed: 90.2 kilometres per hour.
The highest jump
Nobody knows who did the highest jump. Jumping often happens spontaneously, when the waves build up, the wave riders hit the water trying to ride them as well as possible. Boujma Guillot and Levi Siver had their jumps measured – the result: they were between 15 and 18 metres high. Philip Köster also reports a 18 meter jump. This is probably the current benchmark for the highest windsurf jumps. If you compare this to a house, it would be six storeys high!
