Last weekend, 23 years old French Nicolas Akgazcyan won the EFPT Freestyle Classix in Podersdorf at the Lake Neusiedel (AUT) for the second time in a row. The EFPT Freestyle Classix take place during the Dwarf8 Surf Worldcup.
In perfect wind conditions, Nicolas Akgazcyan showed that the short, steep waves of the lake again suited him very well. Already in the last year, he stepped on top of the winners’ podium. And although the freestyle program was set in the regulations this time, Akgazcyan could defeat the other top-class starters once again. The final jury decision was especially close, when the French had to compete against routinier and favorite Tonky Frans from Bonaire. The decision was very tight, but in the end the fourth best freestyler of the world’s ranking Frans had to be content with the second place in Podersdorf. The third place took Italian Raimondo Gasperini, in front of local hero Chris Sammer on the fourth place.
Ranking:
1. Nicolas Akgazcyan (FRA)
2. Tonky Frans (NB)
3. Raimondo Gasperini (ITA)
4. Chris Sammer (AUT)
