Carry board and sail into the water, adjust the board in the right way, the sail on the correct side, jump onto the board, and off you go. Start with the picture at the bottom.

4. Grab mast
Once the rig is lifted up far enough from the water for you to grab the mast, catch it with the front hand underneath the boom. The sail is now completely out of the water. Just let it swing if you want to, and wait until it feels balanced. In the process, don't pull the sail too close to your body; otherwise, you run the risk of falling backwards together with the sail.

3. Sail out of the water
When the sail is lifting up from the water, grab the uphaul line further up step by step. Your body position and that of your board remain unchanged as shown in the two foremost pictures.

2. Lift up sail
Slowly lay back with the help of your body weight while pulling your sail out of the water. Arms remain outstretched. Keep the back straight. Make sure that your board remains in the same position as in the first picture.

1. Starting position
The nose points towards your riding direction. Place your feet on the axis of the board, on opposite sides of the mast-foot, equally spaced. Stand at a shoulder's length, bend your knees slightly, arms outstretched, back straight. Catch the uphaul with both hands. The wind is blowing at your back.

Initial situation
The board lies "perpendicular" to the wind. The rig is in a leeward position, the mast at right angles with the board.
